LEAD ANALYST
RAY CETRACK
Ray Cetrack has followed Australian horse racing for over 20 years, attending meetings at Doomben, Eagle Farm, Flemington, and Caulfield since the early 2000s. What started as a weekend passion turned into a rigorous analytical discipline after Ray spent years tracking his own tips against actual results — and realising that gut feel alone was not enough.
Specialising in Queensland and Victorian racing, Ray developed a six-factor form model covering recent form strings, barrier draw, jockey and trainer strike rates, distance suitability, track conditions, and earnings trends. The model was refined over three seasons of backtesting against historical race results before it was used to generate public tips.
The confidence scoring system (10–90) was built to give punters a realistic picture of each horse's chances — not just a ranking, but a genuine probability assessment based on the full field. A score of 75+ means Ray genuinely rates the horse as the most likely winner. A score of 35–50 means a legitimate each-way chance. Scores below 30 are published for transparency, not as recommendations to back.
Every tip published on AUS Racing Tips is personally reviewed by Ray before going live. No automated tips are published without human review. The Performance tab tracks every selection against actual results so you can judge the record for yourself.
OUR MISSION
AUS Racing Tips provides independent, data-driven horse racing analysis for Australian racing fans. Our goal is to deliver honest form breakdowns and confidence-scored selections across all major meetings, helping punters make informed decisions based on real form analysis rather than hype.
We analyze form strings, win percentages, barrier draws, jockey/trainer statistics, and track conditions to identify genuine contenders. Every tip includes a confidence score (10-90) and detailed analysis explaining why we rate each horse.
HOW WE ANALYZE RACES
FORM ANALYSIS
We examine recent form strings, win percentages, and place percentages to identify horses with consistent performance. Recent form matters most — a horse's last 10 starts are weighted heavily in our analysis.
TRACK CONDITIONS
Different horses suit different conditions. We consider track type (turf vs synthetic), weather, and track condition (firm, good, soft) when assessing suitability for each race.
BARRIER & WEIGHT
Barrier draws and weight assignments significantly impact race outcomes. Inside barriers (1-6) generally have advantages. We assess how each horse's draw and weight compares to the field.
JOCKEY & TRAINER
Top jockeys and trainers have proven track records. We factor in jockey/trainer strike rates and their history with specific horses to assess competitive advantage.
DISTANCE SUITABILITY
Not all horses excel at all distances. We review career records at specific distances to identify horses stepping up or down in distance with confidence.
CONFIDENCE SCORING
Our 10-90 confidence scale reflects realistic winning chances. 72-90 = genuine contender, 35-51 = each-way chance, 10-19 = outsider. Scores are differentiated — no two horses get the same score.
